There are four countries that make up the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England is the most populated country in the United Kingdom, with a population of around 53 million. It is bordered by Scotland to the north and Wales to the West. England is also the home of many famous scientists like Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking.
There are over 30 breeds that originate in England: hunting dogs, companion dogs, guard dogs, sheepdogs you name it, they have it. The English Bulldog is one of the most popular breeds in the world actually ranking on number five. This breed is the national symbol of England, it has been associated with Winston Churchill, it appeared in many cartoons (Spike from Tom & Jerry), movies, commercials, is the official mascot of the United States Marine Corps and the list goes on and on.It is understandable why this dog gets so much love: it has an intimidating look, is courageous, was used for bullfights and dog fights, but at the same time is a loyal and very friendly breed that loves kids and long naps.
